Alison has been working with our 12 year old son for 2 years. She is a warm, compassionate, and highly skilled music therapist. She is able to adapt her therapy sessions to each child in the most creative and flexible way. In addition to her competence and skills as a therapist, I would say Alison stands out because of her innate compassion, desire to connect with children, and truly positive nature. In addition, she actively communicates with our child's other therapists and providers (both at home and at school) to ensure consistency and generalization of skills. She sees the best in children... and as a result, they shine with her! I highly recommend Alison.

Alison’s compassion, understanding of diverse learning needs, love of music and genuine interest in connecting with children to support their development shine through in every aspect of her work as a music therapist. Whether it be small group, individual lessons focusing on comfort with music, or individual lessons incorporating music as a means of accessing and expressing academic content, Alison promotes safety, joy, interaction and self expression. Alison is a strong collaborator with educators, related service providers, and parents and has been an integral part of students’ educational teams. Music therapy has always been full of shining moments with students demonstrating increased socialization, engagement, communication and joy!

Our daughter is 7 and has been enjoying music therapy with Alison for 2 years now. Alison is great with our daughter and is able to understand and handle her behavioral issues. She makes music fun for our little girl because she knows what makes her tick. Alison continues to try new things as our daughter develops. We are very lucky to have Alison as our music therapist.
